 Phylogenomenclature (P-Gnome) is currently available in a Mac OS X installer -if you would like a UNIX version, please contact Neil Sarkar (sarkar@amnh.org). P-Gnome is based on a Columbia University Patent Pending Technology, CAOS.

P-Gnome REQUIRES Perl. If you do not have it installed, it is easiest to install the Apple Developer Tools, which comes with OS X. Alternatively you can download it from here (note that you should download the DECEMBER version of the tools-- if you are using a G5, then you should also upgrade using the AUGUST update to the tools)

P-Gnome runs from a command line interface. Plans for a GUI version are planned, but not in the near future.

Known Issues/ Immediate future goals:

  • There are no plans for an OS9 (classic) version.
  • A PC/DOS version is not immediately planned. If you have interest in assisting with creating version for either OS9, PC, or any flavor of UNIX, please let us know
